Rural Institute
The Institute focuses on the unique qork of child welfare
professionals in rural, tribal and remote communities. This
is an opportunity to gather with others to network, celebrate
and participate in training. Training topics include: Relationships,
Networking, Understanding the Culture of Small Communities,
Boundaries, Resources, Resilience, and more.

NetLink:
We offer synchronous training via the internet to staff
and caregivers around the state, which is called "NetLink".
We provide monthly trainings for caregivers in the evenings.
We deliver mandatory training for new caseworkers via NetLink
as well as advanced topics. NetLink has been a great tool
to take training out to the field to reduce cost and travel
time.

Rural Social Work: Policy Issues
The instructor is an experienced child welfare professional.
Classes can be taken for one undergraduate credit or may be
audited. Tuition and books were covered for rural child welfare
staff participaitng in our grant. |
NICWA
Online:
Become a certified ICWA Specialist - Child welfare workers
at our pilot sites can sign up for this NICWA training online
and the grant will pay for it. This course covers the provisions
of the Indian Child Welfare Act of 1978 and explains the law
in non-legal language, gives the recommended performance steps
and provides information to support practice. This course
